How can i make my look more like rock alternative music lover type ..?

Posted in alternative music | January 31st, 2010

I dont want to look emo or goth or anything and my hair is staying the same way and so is my makeup…i just want to know what i type of clothing to wear that fits alternative rock music ..not like Emo all black stuff pls thanks!!
pics will help.. thanks again lol

just wear whatever. alternative means looking at the world in different ways, and trying what you think is cool.

alt rock is unpredictable, so try new things each week. you can do new things with your hair, or try wearing a shirt a different way. you might want to even make your own shirts if you’re interested.

if you want to buy shirts, I’d suggest you buy volcom graphic tees. they don’t always mean skater, and they really fit the whole meaning of alternative. you might want to try more artistic shirts as well, like from threadless.com. some plain hoodies would be good as well.

for jeans, just get some plain ones, and some with a few holes. too many make you look preppy. you might want to find some that are more skinny around the lower leg/knee, but get wider at the ankle. just avoid bell bottoms. I find mine at the sale rack in the back of american eagle. cheap, but they’re good quality.

a big mistake people make is mixing up emo and alternative. if you pull off alternative well, it won’t look anything like emo. also, to back up your new style, find some really good alternative bands that none of your friends have heard of, and start to share it with them. if you don’t have good music, people will think you’re a poser. one of my favorite alternative bands is belle & sebastian.
