“Fools Overture” is the closing track from Supertramp’s 1977 album Even in the Quietest Moments. Written and song by guitarist, keyboard player, singer and songwriter Roger Hodgson, the song tells about World War II England and the lessons learned from it. The song, which is over 10 minutes long, is a collage of progressive instrumentation and sound samples. First there are excerpts of Winston Churchill’s famous June 4, 1940 House of Commons speech regarding England’s involvement in World War II (”Never Surrender”), and later sounds of police cars and church bells are heard. The flageolet-sounding instrument plays an excerpt from Gustav Holst’s “Venus”, from his orchestral suite The Planets. There is also a reading of the first verse of William Blake’s poem “And did those feet in ancient time” (more commonly known as “Jerusalem”), ended by a very short sample of the band’s song “Dreamer”.

Its writing credits are given to Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson, although it is a Hodgson composition.[1] Like John Lennon and Paul McCartney of The Beatles, Hodgson and Davies joined writer’s credits from 1974 until 1983, when Hodgson left Supertramp to pursue a solo career

Jethro Tull are a english rock group formed in 1967. Their music is characterised by the lyrics, vocals and flute work of Ian Anderson, who has led the band since its founding, and guitarist Martin Barre, who has been with the band since 1969.

Initially playing blues rock with an experimental flavour, they have also incorporated elements of classical music, folk music, jazz and art rock into their music.

Another matter of "how Art Rock is defined," I guess…

When the band YES, started — they were called "Art Rock" & "Flash Rock" –

– then later, re-classified as "Symphonic Progressive"

So, who knows what Art Rock means (I’m not sure that I do)

What Martial Art Inspired Rock Lee’s 1-handed stance(From Naruto)?

Excluding the obviously Anime martial arts you find he often does which are impossible for humans there is an obvious Kung fu influence in his arts, while alot of his kicks we used to do in Tae kwon Do… so i was wondering if anyone know where that signature 1 hand infront of the body stance he uses came from.
It’s not druken fist though because he’s only supposed to use drunken fist in the series when hes drunk. he is seen making this motion when he’s sober

Zui Quan (literally Drunken Fist, also known as Drunken Boxing or Drunkard’s Boxing) is a traditional Chinese martial art. It is a style of wushu that imitates a drunkard in its movements. The postures are created by momentum and weight of the body, and imitation is generally through staggering and certain type of fluidity in the movements. It is considered to be among the more difficult wushu styles to learn due to the need for powerful joints and fingers. Zui Quan is sometimes called Zuijiuquan (literally "drunken alcohol fist").

They are one of my favorite bands and was very upset when they decided to split after one album.

Very dark, melodic and a one of a kind feel.

when will progressive rock music/art rock become recognised as musical contributions?

how come bands like dream theatre and spocks beard or even YES and rush not get grammies not even any popular music critic awards???

I believe these kinds of bands, together with other artists like Steve Vai and Eric Johnson, are not so popular in the mainstream because they are a little more virtuosic, improvisational, and experimental (instead of playing what they think will sell) with their musical expression than most rock music fans are used to. Though they have a Rock sound and look to them, their approach to writing songs and performing is more like that of Jazz musicians (real Jazz, not "Smooth Jazz") so the average rock music fan can’t really understand or appreciate it. That is why most of their fans are other musicians, because they understand the level of technical difficulty that goes into executing the things these artists do.
